Bountiful Children was established in 2008 with the purpose of giving children a healthy start by providing nutritional supplements to malnourished infants and toddlers and their pregnant and nursing mothers.

In 2007 Brad Walker, physician and cofounder of the foundation, was traveling in Ecuador. While there he visited an emaciated child in the hospital. The boy’s parents, who had no money for milk, could only afford to feed him banana water.

By the end of 2008, the foundation, a 501(c)3 entity, was serving eight communities in Ecuador and Guatemala. Currently, Bountiful Children is actively serving nearly 20,000 children and many of their mothers in 16 countries. In 2019 the foundation provided more than 1.8 million supplements to recipients across 200 communities.

In addition to delivering important micronutrients to children and mothers, Bountiful Children provides instruction for parents. These topics include nutrition, food preparation, handwashing, clean water, breastfeeding, human-waste disposal, and cognitive-learning activities for children. Classes were developed in partnership with faculty and students in the Department of Public Health at Brigham Young University.

Your generous gift will help us provide the needed nutrition and instruction to children and families who desperately need a healthy start in life. Thanks to donors like you who cover administration costs, 100% of your gift goes directly to nourishing children. Thank you for any and all help you can give to Bountiful Children. Every small gift counts.
