Bountiful Children was established in 2008 with the purpose of giving children a healthy start by providing nutritional supplements to malnourished children and pregnant/nursing mothers.
Brad Walker, physician, and cofounder of the foundation, was traveling in Ecuador. While there he visited an emaciated child in the hospital. The boy’s parents, who had no money for milk, could only afford to feed him banana water.
By the end of 2008, the foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit, was serving eight communities in Ecuador and Guatemala. Currently, Bountiful Children is actively serving nearly 20,000 children and pregnant/nursing mothers in 20 countries and over 200 communities.
In addition to delivering important micronutrients to children and mothers, Bountiful Children provides instruction for parents. These health lessons include such topics as nutrition and cognitive-learning activities for children. Classes were developed in partnership with faculty and students in the Department of Public Health at Brigham Young University.
Your generous gift will help us provide the needed nutrition and instruction to children and families who desperately need a healthy start in life. Thanks to generous board members covering overhead costs, 100% of your gift goes directly towards helping children and families.
For as little as $10 a month, a child or pregnant/nursing mother receives life-changing nutrients to help them get a good start in life. Thank you for any and all help you can give to Bountiful Children in this most important work.
